Kim Delaney was an American actor from the United States. Her most well-known role is for her role as Detective Diane Russell, in the ABC series NYPD Blue. For this she received an Emmy Award. Her other credits include her roles in the drama All My Children Philly CSI: Miami and Army Wives. Delaney was the sole daughter of an United Auto Workers executive and his wife who was a household worker. She grew up within a household that included four brothers. When she was a kid, Delaney dreamed of being a reporter for the court. The first time she began modeling was in high school and then gaining commercial roles when she moved from the south of England to New York. The role she was given was that of a young innocent in 1981's soap opera All My Children. Since then, Delaney has been featured in many TV dramas and films. Like her career but her personal life hasn't been a success or happy one. The gifted actress was struggling to overcome alcoholism and had two marriages fail. In 2005, she was denied custody of the only child she had.
