Ari Lennox

Courtney Shanade Salter, better known as Ari Lennox, is an American musician and singer who hails from Washington, D.C., who was the first woman to be signed to J. Cole's Dreamville Records record label. Her debut EP Pho, released which was released on 21 October 2016 was released on Dreamville Records. Her career began to grow in fame. Shea Butter Baby released her first studio album on May 7, 2019. Ari Lennox first posted her music on the internet in 2012. Her debut album Ariography as well as her debut mixtape in 2013 with the mixtape Five Finger Discount. The year 2014 saw Ari Lennox continued posting her music on the internet, including her independent single Bound. She was featured in Omen's Elephant Eyes, on Sweat It Out on July 21 the 21st of July, 2015. J. Cole was interested in her talent and wanted to use it with Rihanna. On December 8 it was revealed that she had officially signed by Dreamville Records. She made an appearance on the joint album Revenge of the Dreamers II featuring the track Backseat Cozz. The 21st of October, 2016 her debut EP was released under the name Pho. Ari Lennox then appeared as the opening act to J. Cole on his track Change in 2017. She also appeared on the 4 Your Eyez Only Tour. In 2018, Ari Lennox appeared on two tracks featuring EarthGang On Nothing but the Best, as well as Bas, on Icarus. On July 16 2018 Ari Lennox released the first single Whipped Cream on her first album Shea Butter Baby with an accompanying music video that was released on the 5th of September. Then, in November, she released two singles, 40 Shades of Choke & Grampa. On November 13 two new singles called One and Pedigree. One and Pedigree. She then appeared on the Creed II soundtrack with Cole on a track titled Shea Butter Baby on November 16th. She released the single in February 2019 for her debut album the same title. The track was released with a video posted on YouTube on February 20, 2019, has been watched over 3 million times within the first seven days. She supported 6LACK's From East Atlanta With Love Tour during December 2018.
