She was the first to bring Tejano into mainstream music. Her untimely death splintered her rise in popularity, and it is what happens often when a bright deeply genial superstar dies young, she caused many to grieve every potential that was not fully realized. Through the years, her the fans became encouraged to push themselves harder to make sure that Selena's achievements would not be forgotten. Her death in a shooting triggered emotion in Latino community that is likened to Elvis Presley, and John Lennon. Selena is a hugely popular Latino musician across North America, Selena's music has touched many lives across different cultures. Selena was a hot, flamboyant performer on stage who was sometimes called her as the Latina Madonna. On stage, Selena was an excellent role model since she was active in anti-drug and AIDS campaigns.
